Construction Update: Honest Coffee Roasters – Madison

Fresh hot coffee will be brewing soon at The Avenue Madison thanks to Honest Coffee Roasters moving ever closer to its official opening. After 5 years of serving the downtown Huntsville area, the team decided it was time to expand and bring its signature espresso, lattes, açaí bowls, café fare, and more to the Madison community. Its future home at 92 Shorter Street is well on its way to completion and the shop owner estimates its doors opening in late August or early September.

Honest Coffee Roasters – Madison will have the same welcoming feel as its Huntsville location—complete with its own greenery wall that will be an art installation by local artist Jessie Andrews. There will be plenty of space for patrons to spread out or huddle close as they sip on the latest signature drinks. Owner Christy Wimberly says the new shop will also have outdoor seating on its patio, which she believes many will take advantage of in the cooler days of fall.

Walls are going up quickly and the counter bar where guests will order is taking shape. A large kitchen will complement the shop, making it easy for staff to serve guests in a hurry. According to Christy, the idea of a second location has been on the team’s mind for a couple of years, but once they discovered The Avenue Madison they immediately knew it was a perfect fit. Since Honest announced its expansion in December 2021, another concept has come online to join them at the Madison apartment complex. Harvest & Home, a locally owned and operated décor, design, and furniture store is also set to open at the site.

Finally, there are plans to have a beautiful new mural located at the Madison shop to showcase a love of local art. Honest Coffee Roasters has a history of working with other local small businesses and artists to shine a light on the community. Christy and her team firmly believe in supporting and uplifting the many artists, restauranteurs, and entrepreneurs that call Huntsville or Madison home.

Honest Coffee Roasters – Huntsville opened in May 2017 following a successful pop-up shop across the street from its current site. Thousands of guests visit Honest each week for its beverages and the numbers are growing yearly. Although there are additional Honest Coffee Roasters locations in Franklin and Nashville, the Huntsville and Madison shops are locally owned and feature multiple offerings sourced from other Rocket City-based businesses.

The Avenue Madison, located in historic downtown Madison, is a mixed-use site within walking distance of retailers, dining, and community events held each year. The property features luxury apartments and numerous retail spaces. More retail spaces are available for any concept that wishes to join Honest at The Avenue Madison.
