Honest Coffee Roasters Announces Coming Location At The Avenue Madison

Honest Coffee Roasters – Huntsville is proud to announce that The Avenue Madison will soon be home to its newest location. After five years of serving the community with high-quality coffee beverages, açaí bowls, breakfast, and lunch at its Clinton Avenue site, the Honest team has decided to expand its reach by opening another location in downtown Madison. The new shop will be at 92 Shorter Street in a 1,919 square foot space on the west side of the mixed-use development. Owner and Operator Christy Wimberly expects the new shop to open in late Summer 2022.

“Since our opening at The Garage at Clinton Row in 2017, we have been floored at the outpouring of kindness and support from Huntsville,” said Wimberly. “It has been an honor to be part of the growth happening downtown, and we’ve loved watching all of the new businesses open up around us. The idea of a second location has been on our minds for quite some time. Once we were introduced to The Avenue Madison, all the pieces fit, and we started making plans.”

Honest Coffee Roasters – Huntsville opened in May 2017 following a successful pop-up shop across the street from its current site. Thousands of guests visit Honest each week for its signature beverages and the numbers are growing each year. Although there are additional Honest Coffee Roasters locations in Franklin and Nashville, the Huntsville and Madison shops are locally owned and feature multiple offerings sourced from other Rocket City-based businesses.

“At Honest, we love having the opportunity to showcase up-and-coming small businesses,” said Wimberly. “Over the years, we have partnered with many local vendors to create a unique experience for our guests. Our pastries are sourced from Mason Dixon Bakery & Bistro. Bagels come from Canadian Bakin’ Bread, we have vegan options from Hippea Camper, and much more. Our small business community is unmatched—everyone works to support each other and offer encouragement. We’re excited to extend this philosophy to our Madison shop.”

The Avenue Madison, located in historic downtown Madison, is a mixed-use site within walking distance of retailers, dining, and community events that are held each year. The property features luxury apartments and numerous retail spaces. Honest Coffee Roasters – Madison is the first confirmed retail tenant with more announcements coming soon. “We looked at other options, but the spot at The Avenue Madison immediately caught our attention,” said Wimberly. “It’s centrally located in Madison, at a beautiful new development, and comes with built-in potential guests from its residential side. We also love that it has substantial parking and outdoor seating. We can’t wait to transform our space and welcome our friends.”

Honest Coffee Roasters – Madison will serve the same high-quality coffee drinks, açai bowls, and menu items as its Huntsville shop. Guests can enjoy one of its many staples like a cuban, cappuccino, or Bootlegger latte paired with the popular BomBom açai bowl or a breakfast burrito. Its breakfast offerings include classics like a sausage, egg & cheese biscuit, or a bagel. Lunch has a long list of sandwiches and paninis to choose from, and dietary restrictions are not a problem for Honest. There are plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options as well.

“This opportunity has also allowed for additional growth within our team,” said Wimberly. “We are excited to share that our own Marisa Gossage will be acting as Madison’s Shop Manager. She will be responsible for day-to-day operations and work closely with the Huntsville team to ensure consistency in customer service and quality. She will do an excellent job.”

Anusha Alapati Davis, VP of Retail at Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate, worked with Honest on their downtown Huntsville location several years ago and is thrilled to be working with Christy and her team on this new addition.

“Honest has seen tremendous growth in Huntsville,” said Davis. “The city has fully embraced the concept, and the shop has become a frequented spot where locals meet to work, chat, and relax. Its Madison location will—no doubt—provide the same atmosphere and experience for nearby residents and visitors.”
