Remember when your mother pulled fresh homemade cookies out of the oven? The sweet smell would fill the kitchen, and she’d pour you a glass of milk as you stuffed your face with chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, oatmeal, and peanut butter. For Cookie Fix Founder and Chief Cookie Officer Amy Jason, these were the memories that inspired her to create one of the most popular small-batch cookie shops in Homewood, Alabama. Now, her concept is taking off and expanding to the Rocket City!
Cookie Fix will open a 1,232 square foot space at Twickenham Square located on Pelham Avenue in downtown Huntsville near Huntsville Hospital. The shop’s owner, Paige Brown, is excited to bring the bakeshop to the neighborhood and share her love for delicious cookies and family-run businesses. Cookie Fix has set a tentative opening date of November 2021.
“When I consider what makes Cookie Fix special, I immediately think of the taste and quality,” said Paige. “The texture of each cookie is perfect because we have a unique baking process that yields tall cookies that are crisp on the outside and extra gooey on the inside. Plus, they are loaded with premium ingredients like caramel, chocolate, toffee, espresso chunks, and much more. We bake our batches daily, so you can always expect the freshest most flavorful cookies.”
To say that Cookie Fix was a long time coming is an understatement. According to Paige, she has been set on bringing the shop to Huntsville for three years. After lots of planning and prayer, Paige and Amy prepared for growth and ensured the same quality and attention to detail would be happening in Huntsville as it already was within Cookie Fix’s Birmingham-based shops.
Huntsville will be Cookie Fix’s third location with other spots in Homewood and Cahaba Heights. Guests will never have to worry about variety at the bakery because years of recipes and taste tests have led to a rotating cookie menu of more than 60 flavors! Its cookie calendar shows visitors which days they can order their favorites and when they can branch out to try something new. Popular flavors include Salted Dark Chocolate Caramel, Pecan Sandie, Peanut Butter Bliss, Mochaccino, Funfetti, and classic Chocolate Chip.
“There were 100 reasons we chose Twickenham Square as our new location,” said Paige. “Years ago, I helped bring Taco Mama to the area and it has thrived at the development. It’s going to be nice to have both concepts next to each other sharing traffic and fun. Huntsville is a city like no other and we are ready to bring what we believe are some of the best cookies around to the area.”
Cookie Fix Huntsville will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to individual cookies, the shop will also offer catering with cookie trays, boxes, and decorative tins. Cookie cakes can be ordered for special occasions in sizes ranging from 8-16 inches.
Crunkleton’s VP of Leasing Zac Buckley worked with Paige to secure the space and believes they will be a popular addition to Twickenham Square.
“Paige has been a well-known Huntsville entrepreneur for years,” said Zac. “Her success with Taco Mama is proof that she’s committed to the concepts she works with. Cookie Fix is a favorite in Birmingham, and they have already built a customer base here. They fit perfectly within the development, and we know they will do well.”
A new home décor and gift registry shop is set to open at the Central Park Village shopping center on Bob Wallace Avenue later this year. Ivy & Oak, a creation of sisters-in-law Cate Burris and Kayla Burris, will feature an array of beautiful décor, wedding gifts, baby items, candles, bath and beauty products, drinkware, stationery, and even gourmet spices, mixes, and snacks. The 1,420 square foot shop will be in Suite 115 at the center and is set to open in late Summer 2022.
Your home says a lot about you. It reflects your style, values, and memories—it serves as a respite from the outside world. For a space that’s so special, you’ll likely spend time searching for ways to make it cozier, more elegant, and more YOU. Harvest & Home, a locally owned and operated décor, design, and furniture store, will open its doors at The Avenue Madison development in Q3 2022. The shop will offer clients convenient all-in-one services to turn houses into homes.
