Stylish boutique for ladies’ apparel, shoes, accessories, and more opens new Alabama location in Huntsville’s shopping center, The Village on Whitesburg.
Hemline Huntsville at 4800 Whitesburg Drive will have its grand opening the second week of November. Hours at the new shop are Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Italian billionaire fashion designer Miuccia Prada once said, “What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is an instant language.”
Brazilian-born Brigitte Holthausen took this sentiment—and many others like it—to heart as she went about creating a new women’s clothing brand that would help ladies look and feel their best. Brigitte, only 16 at the time, moved to New Orleans where she pulled together products from different vendors and began to sell them at the 200-year-old Historic French Market in the heart of the city. When she met her husband Luciano in 1993, they teamed up to open a small boutique on Chatres Street called Hemline.
Today, Hemline has more than 30 locations across seven states that offer an array of apparel and fashion brands. The franchise has grown and given other savvy entrepreneurs the chance to own and operate their own Hemline locations. In Huntsville, that Owner is Chappell Brady.
“Hemline Huntsville will be a second location for me,” explained Chappell. “I opened the Mobile shop years ago and have been contemplating when and where to open my next one. Huntsville’s growth is unprecedented and will be the perfect spot to grow the brand. Several of our sales associates in Mobile were from the Rocket City and planned on moving back, so we are going to continue to work with some of the team that has been with us since the beginning. It’s exciting to get to grow with them because they are a big part of why Hemline Mobile has been successful.”
Hemline prides itself on having something that fits everyone’s tastes. When you visit, they will do their best to dress you from head to toe in some of the most fashionable brands. Guests can shop for jewelry, handbags, shoes, dresses, blouses, denim, rompers, outerwear—the list goes on.
“One of the things I love most about Hemline is that it appeals to all ages and style preferences,” said Chappell. “We can help you dress for any occasion, and we will provide you with outstanding customer service. When you enter Hemline Huntsville, you will be greeted by our well-trained associates and enjoy an atmosphere that’s clean, simple, and trendy. Providing excellent brands is one thing, but we are trying to enhance the entire shopping experience.”
The Village on Whitesburg center is home to Huntsville’s Fresh Market, Drake’s, Nadeau, Learning Express Toys, Jason’s Deli, Panera Bread, and many others. Chappell chose the new location at the center because it is “an established neighborhood and the center has wonderful tenants.”
More than 200 brands can be found at Hemline and the team is constantly looking for the latest fashions and designers to add to the mix. To stay at the forefront of trends, Hemline uses customer relationship management technology to determine market demands and improve the shopping experience. Know that any feedback you give Hemline matters greatly.
