Hughes Plaza in Madison has received a lot of attention over the past year thanks to a major renovation that brought new life and business to a once overlooked property. Its formerly blue façade and decades-old design now look like a modern shopping center where people can hang out, enjoy retail therapy, and even actual physical therapy. Its tenant lineup continues to grow with new concepts like Fleet Feet, Just Love Coffee Cafe, Absolute Nutrition, Results Physiotherapy, Forged By HEX Gym, and—recently confirmed—Up A Creek.

Several of these places are now open and ready to welcome visitors. Today, we wanted to give you a quick look at these businesses so you can drop by the next time you’re in Madison.

Up A Creek – Opening in August

This indoor family adventure space is the latest tenant to join Hughes Plaza and has plans of opening in August. Up A Creek is an after-school program, private party rental, and summer day camp all-in-one. Private party packages include 2 hours of unlimited rock climbing, inflatables, and more for an unlimited number of guests.

Fleet Feet

Fleet Feet’s new location at Hughes Plaza was first announced in January 2020 and turned out to be one of our most popular blogs of the year. The running shoes, apparel, and gear company describes itself as more than a store—it is a lifestyle. They are prepared to help everyone from the seasoned marathon runner to the person who simply needs comfortable shoes to walk the dog. No need is too big or small.

Fit ID personalized outfitting offers next-level customization and includes 3D foot scanning with data-driven insights that come from over one million foot scans nationwide. It gives Fleet Feet the ability to personalize solutions for every person who walks in the door.

Just Love Coffee Café

Huntsville fell in love with Just Love Coffee Café when it opened at Times Plaza off Memorial Parkway. The support they received prompted the owners Travis and Dawn Duehring to open a second location in Madison. Hughes Plaza appealed to them because of its many fitness-focused co-tenants and location.

Just Love Coffee Café has a full coffee, breakfast, lunch, and sweet treats menu with loads of options for everyone in the family. Its waffle-iron-based menu items are unique and taste delicious. We highly recommend the Womelette—a combo of eggs, sausage, cheddar cheese, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and tots sprinkled with salt and pepper.

Absolute Nutrition

Absolute Nutrition is a North Alabama-based brand with three locations: Decatur, Huntsville, and Madison. But after several years in its current Madison shop, the owner and his team decided to relocate operations to the newly redeveloped Hughes Plaza.

The shop has everything for your fitness and wellness needs from sleep aids to weight management tools and apparel. Absolute Nutrition serves up pre-cooked healthy meals, nutritional smoothies, nitro cold-brew coffee, and weightlifting equipment.

Saturday: 11 am – 4 pm

Sunday: 1 pm – 5 pm

Forged by HEX

This new gym aims to improve the health and wellness of its members regardless of age, gender, or abilities. They do so by operating under six key foundations: Form, Functional Wellness, Fit, Flexibility, Family, and Fun.

Results Physiotherapy

Patients’ needs come first at Results Physiotherapy. Since its founding in 1996 by Australian Gary Cunningham, the clinic has expanded its footprint to nine states and counting. What makes Results Physiotherapy different? According to its team, it begins with screenings where they complete an in-depth examination of the patient. Then, they create an individualized treatment plan that uses hands-on manual therapy techniques.

Results Physiotherapy has been in the Madison area for some time but outgrew its space. They decided to add another site where they could provide physical therapy services to the east and west areas of Madison.

Tuesday & Thursday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Saturday & Sunday: Closed
