Neighborhood Italian Restaurant “Amerigo” To Open At Hays Farm

Nashville-based 4Top Hospitality Group is bringing a new Italian restaurant to Huntsville. Amerigo, a neighborhood eatery specializing in classic Italian fare, will open at the up-and-coming Market at Hays Farm. Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate helped Amerigo secure its 7,573-square-foot space at the South Huntsville development that will be the brand’s first Alabama site. The new restaurant will bring a blend of traditional and modern Italian cuisine along with its signature welcoming atmosphere in late 2021.

Opening Amerigo in Huntsville was a goal of the hospitality group after the success of its Char Restaurant in 2019—another concept in 4Top’s wide portfolio of branded restaurant concepts. Char, located on Bob Wallace Avenue, was an “extremely successful” venture for the group and led to discussions about expanding its other concepts to the Rocket City.

“Given the warm reception we received when we opened Char, in addition to the number of guests I’ve met from the Huntsville area frequenting our Amerigo in Brentwood, Tenn., we made opening another location in Huntsville a priority,” said Doug Hogrefe, co-owner at Amerigo. “We couldn’t be happier with the site we’ve chosen.”

Since opening its first restaurant in Ridgeland, Miss., more than 30 years ago, Amerigo has become a crowd favorite and added locations throughout the Southeast. Its consistently delicious menu along with quality customer service and approachable price points have made Amerigo a mainstay in the industry.

Each of Amerigo’s five locations share many of the same timeless dishes, and each secures local ingredients and purveyors to give its plates a home-grown flavor. Its dedication to serving fresh Italian meals extends to various dietary needs including vegetarian and gluten-free lifestyles. A dedicated gluten-sensitive menu offers a wide range of salads, entrees, and desserts that make Amerigo an excellent dining experience for everyone.

4Top focused on Amerigo as its next concept to enter Huntsville because it believed it would fill a much-needed gap in the market with exquisite Italian cuisine. The restaurant was represented in its search by Anusha Alapati Davis at Crunkleton and Austin Benedict at CBRE. When asked why Amerigo chose The Market at Hays Farm as its first Alabama location, the team was quick to point out the development’s many surrounding residential neighborhoods, ideal co-tenancy, and growing traffic. Branch Properties is the developer of the site and is thrilled to welcome Amerigo to its fold.

Amerigo will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and offer brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Architecture at the new location will be handled by Huntsville’s Matheny Goldmon Architects + Interiors. Guests will be able to enjoy patio seating, private dining spaces, a full bar, and a comfortable dining room. Catering will be available at the Huntsville location for pickup and delivery.
