It’s hard to believe that Mother’s Day is just around the corner. This Sunday, we will all take a moment to thank our moms for their hard work, love, and support.
Shopping for your mom’s gift this year may feel a little different, but there are still plenty of opportunities to find the perfect item to make her day special. Retail shops in the area are taking steps to make the process easier and safer for customers.
Before you visit, we recommend checking the websites (linked below) and social media accounts of each shop so you know of any updated safety protocols and shopping options, like smaller maximum occupancies, changes in hours, additional online services, curbside pickup, and even personal shopping appointments.
It’s impossible to include all of the incredible stores and potential gifts into one blog, so we did our best to pack as many as we could into one post. But if you know of a great Mother’s Day gift that needs to be featured, let us know in the comments! We will do our best to showcase as many as we can.
Here are a few of the gifts we found around Huntsville:
For The Mom Who Loves Fashion
Many beautiful boutiques around the Rocket City have the perfect gift for your fashion-forward mom.
For instance, Elitaire Boutique at The Garage at Clinton Row has stunning jewelry like these gold classic styles. We also love these colorful hoops from Binky & Lulu! If you’re looking for something else, you can choose from the boutique’s selection of dresses, shoes, and accessories. Owner Kayla has also put together some adorable Mother’s Day bundles to make shopping even easier!
Take a short walk from there and visit Indigo’s Boutique at The Avenue for more fashionable gifts. They have tons of apparel, accessories, shoes, and jewelry that are perfect for mom. Ask ahead about potential sales and discounts.
For The Mom With A Sweet Tooth
Cakes, cookies, and cruffins—oh my! If your mom has a sweet tooth, she’s in luck. Our city has talented bakers and pastry chefs who create stellar made-from-scratch goodies.
The Moon Bakeshop: Cruffins – These delicious morsels sell out fast so be sure to call ahead. Never heard of a cruffin? It’s croissant dough rolled in sugar and filled with an almond pastry cream. It’s light, fluffy, and goes perfectly with a cup of coffee when you serve mom breakfast in bed.
Baby Bite Bake Shop: Baby Bites & Cake Cups – After gaining attention in Birmingham, shop owner Emily decided to bring the flavor-packed cake bites to Huntsville. People were immediately hooked. These tiny cakes fit easily in the palm of your hand, meaning you can rarely stop at just one. Order a dozen for mom and she’s sure to love her Mother’s Day. Choose from several flavors like red velvet, caramel, chocolate, strawberry, strawberry margarita, key lime, and many more. You can also order the larger cake cups for a more substantial treat.
It has been an interesting start to the year and mom may be looking for some gifts focused on self-care. We’ve found some great ones!
Caley Paige Home & Gifts may be known for its beautiful home décor, but they also have bath and body brands that moms will love. For instance, the A’Del Luxury line has several items like facemasks, body butter, and serums that will help restore radiant skin with natural botanical blends.
Or, take mom a Nash|Jones clay mask so she has an excuse to relax. This brand has been featured in Style Magazine for its excellence.
Finally, grab a Rose Quartz facial roller by Slow North. It claims to be anti-inflammatory and soothing. Brooke Busby, owner of Caley Paige, said her daughter likes to place the roller in the refrigerator before using so it has a cooling effect.
Located on Clinton Avenue, In Bloom Floral Design Studio has exceptional flower arrangements and other small gifts for mom. Look no further if your mother loves having fresh flowers around the house.
Ordering from In Bloom means you can also attach other small gifts to your purchase like picture frames, decorative signs, pillows, and cozy throw blankets.
At Harrison Brothers, ask them about gifts for gardeners. Its many selections by Burgon & Ball include must-haves like gardening gloves, tools, accessories, and even a few books to help improve skills. There’s much more to be found so speak to a sales representative to hear of everything that’s available for moms with a green thumb.
Need vases for your freshly grown flowers that match mom’s décor? Caley Paige has several artisan vases to choose from.
For The Mom Who Loves To Read
Do you have a bookworm for a mom? If reading is her favorite pastime there are some places in Huntsville that can help you out.
Huntsville’s local independent bookseller, The Snail On The Wall, is busy making deliveries and shipping out book bundles. For 2020, they have put together a wonderful Mother’s Day bundle that includes “Big Lies In A Small Town” by Diane Chamberlain, “Rules For Visiting” by Jessica Francis Kane, and “Feels Like Falling” by Kristy Woodson Harvey.
Harrison Brothers Hardware on the Downtown square has another fun find. Local author Donna Castellano put together a beautiful book that showcases the gardens of historic Huntsville.
For The Mom Who Loves Coffee & Tea
Whether you’re looking for whole bean coffee, fresh drip, espresso beverages, or a gift card, there is plenty to choose from in Huntsville. A good place to begin your search is by checking out the official Downtown Craft Coffee Trail. Most of these places also have coffee mugs, accessories, and branded swag too. All of the shops have modified their operations to ensure easier and safer delivery/pickup.
We love this specialty roast by Just Love Coffee at Times Plaza called “I Love My Mom”. Bonus: If you want mom to enjoy a special Mother’s Day breakfast or lunch, Just Love Coffee is open for takeout and curbside pickup. You can also grab a new coffee mug or swag while you’re there.
