It’s time for another quick progress report from some of our major properties throughout the city!
Today, we are going to share construction updates for the 106 Jefferson Curio by Hilton Hotel, Times Plaza on Memorial Parkway, and the soon-to-open Wheelhouse Salon that’s located at The Avenue apartments in downtown Huntsville.
All of these projects will bring new and exciting things to Madison County, and we are proud to be involved.
First announced in June 2018, this coming hotel is situated one block from the historic downtown Huntsville Square. 106 Jeffersonwill be a boutique hotel that offers 117 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, best-in-class amenities, meeting rooms, and a rooftop bar on its 7th floor!
If you’ve strolled around downtown, you’ve noticed that the site has been cleared and some type of construction/prep work is happening. Crews are now on site focusing on the foundation of the building by creating something called micropiles.
For those who haven’t heard the term before, micropiles create deep, stable foundations for properties by using site-specific tools to drill down through any obstructions. These micropiles are formed with high-strength, small-diameter steel casing/threaded bars, which are then reinforced with cement grout pumped into the casing.
This type of method is used to support all kinds of structures and ensure that no matter what site or ground you’re working with, your foundation will be extremely stable and reinforced.
Currently, the project is slated to be complete in Q3 2020. We will continue to update you on all progress here.
As tenants complete their build outs we will keep you posted. Confirmed retail businesses at Times Plaza include Stone Age Korean Steakhouse, Super Chix Chicken & Custard, Just Love Coffee, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, and Regymen Fitness.
Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar is slated to open in September with Super Chix following soon after in October.
If you peeked your head inside the future home of Wheelhouse Salon, you’d see chairs lining the walls, the reception area almost complete, and final touches being put on the build out. Located at The Avenue apartments on Jefferson Street, Wheelhouse is a Birmingham-based, high-end salon that will be 2,288 square feet and will offer all kinds of haircuts, styling, and coloring services in a welcoming environment.
Co-owner Johnny Grimes II says the salon will open on September 3rd!
