Club Pilates, a boutique Pilates studio specializing in reformer-fusion classes for all age levels, plans to open a brand new facility at the Williamsburg Plaza development on the corner of Highway 72 and Nance Road near the City of Madison. The 2,139-square-foot space will be located between the already established Bank Independent branch and Aspen Dental. Franchise Owner Josh Schultz said Club Pilates West Huntsville plans to open its doors this summer.
“Club Pilates provides life-changing, high-quality training for anyone looking to improve their overall fitness level,” said Schultz. “We incorporate resistance-based training that uses a reformer instead of more traditional equipment like dumbbells. Best of all, we are able to bring Pilates to more people and make it more accessible thanks to multiple class offerings and opening the sessions to additional clients. However, the classes are still small enough that everyone receives the individualized attention they deserve.”
Club Pilates prides itself in utilizing state-of-the-art equipment while modernizing the group fitness class model. By the end of 2019, the company will have more than 650 locations worldwide with over 2,800 instructors who teach over 8 million workout classes each year. At the studio, a variety of classes will be available on a membership basis. There are also private training opportunities.
According to the General Manager of Club Pilates West Huntsville, Janelle Belmonte, she was drawn to the business because her personal experiences with Club Pilates had been very positive and led to several lasting friendships.
“Personally, I don’t enjoy feeling like just another number when I go to the gym or to work out,” said Belmonte. “At Club Pilates, I always felt as if I had a team behind me on my fitness journey and instructors who truly cared about my progress. When the opportunity to become General Manager at the West Huntsville location presented itself, I was quick to jump on board.”
Belmonte said the new studio will provide an atmosphere for all types of workouts. This includes the more upbeat Cardio Sculpt class to the very relaxing Restore class designed to heal tired, sore muscles. Of course, there will be plenty of sessions for various fitness and skill levels, so everyone can have a highly customized experience.
“Our culture is unique in that it’s not just another Pilates class, but an environment where you can be yourself and make friends,” said Belmonte. “We have extended hours—including weekends—and with an unlimited membership, you’re not paying for a set number of classes. You can come as often as you can fit it in your schedule.”
There will also be numerous members-only events held at the fitness studio to add additional value, instruction, and opportunities beyond basic classes. Guests are also welcome to drop in for a single class to try it out.
When asked why they chose Williamsburg Plaza as the location of their West Huntsville studio, Belmonte it had everything to do with convenience for clientele.
“There’s an ease of access and convenience, as well as a balance of people commuting in that area off Highway 72,” she said. “The neighborhood has grown tremendously and the retail options are multiplying. We believe Club Pilates will fill a need for service that currently doesn’t exist in and around that location.”
Once Club Pilates West Huntsville opens, they will have operating hours seven days a week as early as 5 a.m. and late as 9 p.m. Extended weekend hours will be added depending on the need.
“Club Pilates will be a great addition to Williamsburg Plaza,” said Zac Buckley, leasing agent at Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate. “Josh and Janelle have wanted to bring more fitness options to the area for a long time, and the growing retail corridor off Highway 72 will make the new studio easily accessible and provide the high visibility they were looking for.”
“Even if you’ve never tried a group fitness class before, we invite you to give us a shot,” said Belmonte. “You will experience a sense of community and learn the basic exercises that you’ll build upon in future sessions. Our staff is passionate about helping our clients grow, and we will be there for them every step of the way.”
Now, another nearby property will experience renovations and add more retail and office space to the square. 107 North Side Square will be transformed into a space desirable to restaurants, office users, and retail. Crunkleton will be handling the leasing for the project and working with other local groups who are handling the redevelopment.
“Environmental, economic, and social sustainability—those are the pillars of our company,” shared Candace Stough, co-owner of The Foundry Coffee Roasting Company. Have you ever considered the many skilled hands it takes to make your morning coffee? From the farmers to roasters and baristas, it takes a village to create each pour. The Foundry will bring sustainable coffee practices, products, education, and more to the Huntsville area that will have a global impact.
